Karnataka State Flag

Karnataka State Flag

During my recent visit to Bangalore, I saw lot flags (yellow and Red) suddenly coming up all over after the demise of Dr. RajKumar. Even his casket was draped with this flag. Initially, I thought it was the flag of some party Dr. Rajkumar belong to or something of that sort. But my local colleague told me that it is actually the unofficial state flag of Karnataka.

I knew the states in US have their own flags and in fact California even has word Republic in its flag, but a state flag in India was news to me... Does any other state of India have official / unofficial flag?

Incidentally, the same flag in reverse order is used in Australian beaches to indicate safe areas for swimming and surfing.

  4. This shows the fascist attitude of Kannadigas. They should get along with their neighbours rather than being jealous and carrying attitude. The Indian Govt should scrap the kannada flag which is tarnishing the Indian National Flag image.

  5. Brother it's not the fascist attitude, in US every state has their own flag but that doesn't means they disrespect other state flag. If any other state in India don't have a flag then it's not the problem of kannadigas.

  6. This is made by politician and later they will ask for new country and try to divide India's unity. Never underestimate India (Your nation). Always keep your nation and all things related to nation in your heart not your state . And if you are biased with your understanding then no one can make understand the patriotism of your country. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
