International Arrival Made Easy - just a little

I would like to believe that Customs Department of Government of India actually listened to me!!! Couple of months back, I posted that the Customs department has done away with the mandatory stamping process for all international departures.

Now, Customs Department seems to have done away with the mandatory screening of all 'hand carry' bags for all international arrivals. Yesterday, even though the Customs Department Officials were manning the screening station at Chennai Airport, they just waved us through. I sincerely hope it was permanent policy decision and not a temporary machine glitch.
